About Inform the Vote

This is a great place to add a tagline.

Hello! My name is Elizabeth McBride, and I am a high school student at Pine View School in Osprey, Florida. My parents adopted me when I was about 14 months old and took me to America.

I was a typical kid who loved to play and eat ice cream. Throughout my childhood, it was a back and forth journey between Virginia and Florida. Some of my fondest memories in Virginia were going to the pool every day in the summer, rummaging in the basement for cool knick knacks, and eating ice cream at Carousel. My dad kept numerous board games in the living room such as Chutes and Ladders, Life, and Break the Ice. My sister and I spent so much time out there, playing games and watching TV.

In Florida, my family lived near the water in an apartment where I could look out at the ocean. Since the weather was always good, my mother would often take my sister and I out in the buggy. I loved riding in the buggy because there were pockets where I could stash food, drinks, and fun games for me to do. I remember one unfortunate incident when my mom was on the phone and she accidentally tipped the buggy into the road so my sister and I landed on our side. It didn’t hurt much, but I love teasing my mom about the incident.

Even though my sister and I were left with babysitters a good amount of the time since my parents were always busy, I had a great childhood. I was very active and participated in multiple activities such as gymnastics, soccer, basketball, swimming, and ballet. My mother and I had a habit of running races together. We always loved the cool T-shirts and the fun goody bags filled with water bottles and lanyards that came with each race.

It wasn’t until 2nd grade that my mom, sister, and I settled down in Florida permanently. From 2nd grade to now I have attended Pine View School.

Pine View was a great nurturing environment for me, and I consider it one of my homes given all of the experiences and memories I have of it. At Pine View, I have attended dances, gone on field trips to the Van Wezel, made so many friends, and developed my life views.

We got Ben the summer before my junior year. We were all ecstatic since he was so cute. He has been a great addition to the family and loves to cuddle with us. My mom and I take him to Pine View to play, and we take him on walks in our neighborhood. He is the best dog ever. We love him so much!

Currently, I am a junior. In my free time I read Asian novels on sites such as Novel Updates and Box Novel. Music is another big part of my life. Whenever I am walking in between classes or walking on the beach, I always listen to music. Of course, my life is also filled with homework, studying, and extracurriculars.

Our Mission

In my opinion, the only way to address social problems in a country is for citizens to actively participate in their political system. That’s why I started Inform the Vote which is designed to encourage future generations of Americans to vote by aiding them with useful information. I want young people to establish voting habits early on to get them to participate in politics and also to increase the likelihood that they will vote later on in life. On my website I plan to write blogs about voting topics and to host interviews with political officials or professionals.
